We invite you to try out these new video courses by Professor Dr. Gabriele Labanauskaitė, which you can watch at your own pace and preferred time. Gabriele will share her knowledge of writing and the tools that help to create an interesting and engaging text. During the course, your writing skills will be developed through special exercises that unlock creativity.
After all, creative writing is one of the ways to overcome writer's blocks and free the pen. The Creative Writing course is for everyone: those who have been writing for a long time, those who are afraid to start, those who want to unleash their creativity and find the right words at the right time. Creative Writing helps you to compromise with your inner critics, to clean out your inner self and to create a framework for a writing routine.
WHAT IS IT?
Video course, which contains 26 videos + online Q&A session with dr. Gabriele Labanauskaite. Language of the videos - Lithuanian with English subtitles.
After the course, you will also have the opportunity to join the Facebook group of the IS TYLOS writers' community (alumni) and join one session of writer's club on November 27th 20-21 h.
How is this creative writing course different from other courses?
1) The course programme is unique in its depth of study, enriched by numerous practical exercises and tips. Gabrielė Labanauskaitė has 15 years teaching experience in Lithuania and abroad in the field of text analysis and creative writing;
2) continuity and coherence, the knowledge acquired during the course can then be further developed in specific courses on characters, narrative structure or the creation of monologues, dialogues and polylogues.
IN THE COURSE:

- you will learn to establish a writing routine and discipline;
- learn about the expressive devices that make storytelling interesting and engaging;
- Overcome the fear of a white sheet of paper or a blank screen;
- learn to recognise and befriend your inner critic;

SCHEDULE:
The online course (26 videos) will be available to you for 2 months from 1 September to 13 November. Participants are asked to watch the videos individually on their own until our Q&A session on 13 November 19:30-21:00 (GMT+2, Vilnius), where you'll be able to ask Gabriele any question that might occurred to you during the course, share your impressions and get to know the other participants.
ABOUT THE LECTURER:
GABRIELĖ LABANAUSKAITĖ - poet, prose writer, playwright, who has accumulated a decade of experience as a lecturer in creative writing at Lithuanian and foreign higher education institutions. Combining her experience as an educator and an artist, Gabrielė is a sociable personality, who creates a cozy and safe atmosphere during the IŠ TYLOS courses and workshops.
Having published three books, a scholarly monograph "Dramatics" (2017) and a collection of plays "Dramas" (2022) and Lear/s (2023), Gabrielė continues to explore contemporary narrative techniques in drama and other literary texts and contexts.
